P sychopath
2 In Game Music Contest
Are you
a music artist trying to get your name out?
Psychopath
is an original award-winning puzzle web flash game developed in 2005.
A sequel to this game is under production and will be released in
early/middle October 2006.
You can play the beta here.
This
is your opportunity to have music you have written to be included in
the final version of the new Psychopath 2 game. In doing so you will
have your name and song spread out to millions of Internet users. For
more information as to what to expect in Psychopath 2, please visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K2xl_Games#Psychopath_2.
Each world will be associated with a musical genre and the in game
jukebox will play the two winning submissions for that world.
Remember: The judges
will choose a song based on how they feel it'll fit into the game. If
they feel it is too distracting from gameplay then it will not be
selected, remember this if you were considering vocals.
Competition
Rules:
-
All
submissions must be received by Midnight (GMT) on the 17th September
2006, any late entries will not be accepted.
Submissions should be made to k2xl
[at] k2xl.com, with the subject “Psychopath
2 Music Submission – {CATEGORY}”***
If your email gets bounced back, please try emailing your submission k2xl.com [at] gmail.com .
-
A
panel of judges shall choose the best submissions from each
category and post them on a poll for each category. The top two winners from each category will be featured on the game. The poll will be open on 20th of September 2006. Polls will be open until midnight September 27th .**
-
Submissions must include the
following information in order to be considered: Full Name, Title of
track, Email/Website (if such exists), and an optional bit on who you are and how
you created this entry (inspirations, instruments used, ect). And
obviously don't forget to attach your track in mp3 format, 128 -
192kbits. Completing the ID3 tag for your mp3 would also be helpful,
Entries must fall into the following
genres. If you are unsure of the genre of your entry, write UNSURE
in the place of the category.
Rap
/ Hip Hop
- Rock / Alternative
- Techno / Dance/Electronic
- County / Bluegrass
- Classical / Piano / Instrumental
Judges
will look at the following criteria of your submission:
A) Talent – This game is
going to be played over a million times. It's recommended that you
submit your BEST.
B) Fit – We are looking
for gaming music. We want music that will engage the user into the
experience. Loud music rarely fits in games – especially puzzle games. With
that said, understand also that we will accept submissions with
lyrics – but a song about your x-girlfriend doesn't really have
place in a puzzle game.
C) Length – Try
not to exceed 3-4 minutes of music.
Each
submission must be sent as a separate email, clearly stating the
genre it is targeted for.
N o
more than 2 submissions per musical genre may be submitted. If it is
found that you have submitted more than 2 tracks per genre, using
multiple aliases, all of your submissions will be void and not
considered.

By
submitting a composition you agree that you are the author or have
permission from the author to submit the composition.
